Stay in line with fashion this season as monochrome stripes are making their return. Although its slight resemblance to the humbug sweets may seem daunting, there are the right ways to wear this trend and there are the 'dont-even-go-there's'. Here's a handful of mine:
- When wearing monochrome stripes, they already speak for you so make sure you keep the outfit simple. Don't go overboard on jewelry and make sure any accessories dont colour clash. Especially gold!
- I personally love wearing natural looking eye makeup with this print as its already bold and eye-catching. A neutral brown shadow and liner finished with a few coats of mascara and gloss would suit this look down to the ground. However, if you're more creative with your makeup and can't go out without it then a brown smokey eye would definitely work. Just avoid any popping colours!
- Where's those pairs of little black heels you own? Well, if they're stuffed at the back of your wardrobe then this is perfect time to get those beauties out. When wearing a monochrome striped dress you need to keep accessories simple. I'm talking either black or white, preferable black (as black goes with everything), heels or flats, whatever you feel the most comfortable in, and finished off with the perfect bag.
- Never mix colours with this pattern unless you're extremely daring or like to stand out. And I mean stand out. Monochrome is monochrome for a reason. It solely concentrates on how black and white goes flawlessly together. Why would you want to ruin that??
