At the end of a stressful day we all need some 'me-time' where we can relax and unwind. For us to have that exclusive moment there are a few steps we need to take to create the perfect setting- here's my tips on making it a night-in to remember...
First things first, you need to start your bubble bath. Bubble baths are the most relaxing thing ever to me, and with the right necessities you can create the perfect bubble bath. I adore fizz bars and bath bombs, they make a bath much more special. Lush is a great place to try these products- they have so many gorgeous scents and decorations! Don't forget to add the bubble bath as well to create nice big bubbles to relax in. Once your bath is ready, light some candles and play some soft music in the background.
When my bubble bath is done I like to wash my hair afterwards so that's the next step on my list. On special occasions, I like to shampoo, condition and apply a hair mask to my hair. When the mask is ready to wash off, I use cooler water to close the pores on my scalp and wrap my hair up tightly in a towel. Make sure you're wearing a comfy robe as well. I love my Minnie Mouse one!
Next, get out all your skincare favourites. I like to start with a purifying face mask (you can see my current favourite face mask down below) to help revitalise my skin. Wash your face briefly with warm water to open your pores, pat dry your skin lightly and apply your chosen face mask. They recommend to keep it on for at least 10-15 mins so I keep mine on for at least 15. Once my face mask is starting to dry up I wash it off with cold water. Again, this closes the pores in my skin.
Once you're finished with your face mask you can continue with your normal skin routine. I like to usually cleanse my skin with a lotion from Simple and a moisturizer from Nivea. Other times, however, I like to use a toner on my skin. When my routine is done I finish it by moisturising the rest of my body with a Mandara Spa Amber Heaven lotion to make my skin softer and smoother.
Once your skin routine is done and out the way its time to dry your hair. I like to dry my hair upside down to give it more volume and bounce. Once the whole underneath is dry, flip your hair back up and dry through the top roots. This isn't necessary if you don't want to but I ALWAYS straighten my hair afterwards. Its just to big and fluffy to manage! I like to use the VO5 heat and protect serum first on my hair so its protected from the heat.
When my hairs finished it's time to move onto nails! I absolutely love painting my fingers and toes. My mood and the seasons really inspire the colours I choose. I'm currently loving peach on my toes and gold metallic glitter on my fingers to match the autumn tones. Its completely up to you what colours you choose though!
When my nails are done and painted I like to sit back and just chill, waiting for them to dry. There's nothing much left to do after that so I just sit back and watch some TV or listen to music. Its up to you!
